Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Ithaca, NY 14850
Schedule: Day shift | 3x12-hour shifts/week
Duration: 3+ Months Contract
Compensation:
Up to $62/hour for local candidates
Up to $71/hour for travel candidates
A leading healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join their diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting a variety of sonographic procedures and working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols and within scheduled timeframes
Carry out portable ultrasound exams as needed
Utilize equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, identifying anatomical abnormalities such as masses, abscesses, and stones
Assist physicians with biopsy and deep abdominal ultrasound studies, including color-flow imaging
Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality
Explain procedures to patients and position them appropriately for optimal imaging
Evaluate technical quality of images and process them per department guidelines
Maintain and archive imaging records using PACS and EMR systems such as EPIC
Perform clerical duties including patient scheduling and documentation in various hospital systems
Provide guidance and technical support to students, residents, and team members
Clean, stock, and sterilize instruments and maintain exam areas
Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical ultrasound setting
Proficiency with diagnostic ultrasound equipment and imaging software
Excellent patient care and communication skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
